CEAP consists on visiting, teaching and distributing booklets written by TierrAmar on local ecology to the students and teachers of remote, public and rural schools that border natural parks and/or fragile Colombian ecosystems such as “paramos”, coasts, forests, and lakes, among others. After the lectures, a practical activity such as participative reforestation of native trees or the creation of seedbeds, nurseries, food and medicinal plant gardens for the schools is carried out with the students.
After 6 months, TierrAmar returns to the same schools previously visited for the Monitoring and Evaluation phase where it reviews all the project’s contents with the same students and teachers, it holds a Q&A session and tests the student’s using games and competitions. It also monitors the trees planted and/or the seedbeds, nurseries and gardens that were set up in the first visit.
