

Our Work
With TierrAmar we have worked on ecosystemic conservation, environmental education, ecological restoration, marine research and social projects in Colombia since 2013.

Ecosystemic Conservation
TierrAmar is conserving 2 forest ecosystems in Colombia- the Sabaleta Sanctuary in the Pacific and the Janindu Natural Reserve in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in the Caribbean. Water, fauna and flora are protected in both areas.
Environmental Education
TierrAmar has completed 4 successful environmental education projects throughout Colombia, related to our precious ecosystems and to the lionfish problematic. The audience for these projects have been public and rural school students, teachers, indigenous communities and fishermen.


Ecological Restoration
TierrAmar has been restoring deforested areas in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta through the reforestation of native trees with the involvement of local communities since 2015.
Research
TierrAmar has participated in 2 research projects related to sea turtle aggregations and to the lionfish population in Colombia's Caribbean .


​Social Work
TierrAmar has completed 2 social projects in the Colombian Caribbean with the Kogi indigenous community and with children who have been victims of some form of abuse, sexual trafficking and teenage unwanted pregnancies.
